What do you have to lose?

I have come to understand something extremely important. It’s that absolutely nothing is wrong. There is no mistake or misstep either. There is nothing out of place. How can I be so sure? Every so-called accident or bad happening has ended up being exactly what I needed to get to the next stage of my life. It’s all a patchwork of absolute essentiality. A so-called mistake is merely dwelling in the past.

When my grandfather was in the military, he was riding in a truck, and his arm was resting out of the window. His truck suddenly collided with another in an accident that landed him in the infirmary. His arm was broken in several places and he had to have screws put in his elbow. His recovery took many weeks. While he was put on medical discharge, his troop was sent to Korea. All of them perished in a battle, including his brother, Oliver. Had my grandfather not been in that so-called accident, you would not be reading My Morning Motivator. Well, you might be, but not written by yours truly.

Everything that has happened up until this point had to have happened to make this moment possible. All points converge on something we call the present moment. In this miraculous convergence of time and space, you are a witness to the unfolding of the universe’s story. We simply don’t understand what it took since the beginning of time to witness this moment. How could you think anything is a waste, an accident, a mishap, or a misfortune? Even if you die, is it a misfortune? All that I read about those who’ve had near death experiences say it’s sublime and peaceful. What do you have to lose then? If you don’t pay attention to the present moment – everything.
