God’s mysterious ways are pissing me off.

How you see your life is yours for the taking! Wake up every morning and be grateful, for God is good. Remember that life is a gift, and you should be thankful for all that has happened. Come on! For real? How could I offer that advice to a grieving parent, a suffering hospital patient, or a person living in war-torn areas of the world?

We have in our collective consciousness that bad things can be swept under the rug. When horrible things happen we pass it off as if God is innocent and compassionate and had nothing to do with the circumstance. We chalk it up as a “mystery.” God’s ways are mysterious. What a load of crap!

God is everything, from the worst to the best. How could it be that the source of the world is surprised by anything that has happened, even if we blame humans for doing horrific things to each other. Are humans not God’s handiwork? God moves in us. We have our being in God, except when we’re angry and do bad things – come on! Are you willing to let God off the hook like that?

We cannot accept responsibility for the good in our life and blame the bad on “everyone else” or on circumstance. That’s what we do to God and look at how horrible he’s turned out to be. When you do that to yourself, you’re just as bad. I say, let’s do better than God. Let’s take full responsibility for all that occurs. When we realize we’re causing destruction and goodness, we can stop blaming God, our circumstances, or everyone else for our problems and solutions. When will we realize it’s our fault (good and bad), God is absolved. Besides, God’s “mysterious ways” are really beginning to piss me off. There is no mystery. Pay attention, and you’ll realize it’s all you.
