Running out or not having enough is scary. People run out of time, they run out of health, they run out of energy, and they run out of gas on the freeway. They run out of ideas, and they run out of money, so what’s the deal? Is there limited supply? The answer to that question is a confusing yes and no.
It all depends upon how you frame it, and how far down the road you look. The planet will come to an end, this we know. The sun has a limited supply of energy, and when it explodes – lights out! You have a limited window to be in this body on earth, and so yes, you haven’t much time. So if you think far into the future, supply dries up.
But if you think far into the future, you’re delving into illusion. There is no future, so wouldn’t you be safe to say there is no limit? Today, at this moment and from this point, limit is not real. Supply is real, at this moment. That’s what “daily bread” means. It’s a metaphor for the eternal, undefinable now. Now, you have more than enough. In other words, today gives you what you need, not tomorrow. Lack belongs to the future, and the future belongs to the unknown; therefore lack is unknown. Abundance belongs to you, right now. Today you have enough, and the feeling of running out or expiring is in the future, in la-la land. Consume your daily bread, savor it, and enjoy being in the promised land. The freedom from limit is now. You are not disconnected from supply. You are supply. In the future, supply is turned off at the spigot. Now, there is no spigot and supply overflows. Give us this day, and we shall not lack. Thank you Creator, for the abundance of needlessness today.
