If you’re suddenly in danger, your brain would shift into fight-or-flight mode, and strength and agility would kick in and move you towards swift action or to take cover. Sudden danger knocks your brain into high gear, all without “your” help. It all happens by itself, including the so-called danger. What you think of as voluntary action is happening by itself too. It all comes from the same source. How could the supreme intelligence abdicate control to the likes of you or me? Would you give the keys of authority to your dog? Everything comes from The Source, The Unknown – involuntary or voluntary, all of it belongs to The Originator. There is nothing that comes from the “outside” of the universe. The universe has no outside. The universe is just happening, and so are you.
Automation – breathing, circulation, aging, survival – from where do these come? Addiction, compulsion, fidgetiness, hatefulness, evil – from where do these come? Does The Originator originate everything? Maybe the Supreme Intelligence, The All-Knowing Omniscience enjoys a surprise now and then. Yeah, but I think we know the Truth, which will set you free, if you probe this “dilemma” a bit further.
As the saying goes, “All things come of thee, O Lord.” It doesn’t say, “All good things come of thee, O Lord – and the bad things come from the devil, and my stupidity, ego, and blindness come from me.” Do I come from thee? All things comes of thee, O Lord, so from where does the devil come? Your so-called voluntary control, freewill, and choice – does that not come from the same place as the universe itself? What about litter, disease, and violence? From where do these come? Where do horrible things come from? And me, from where do I come? It’s all things, remember? Whew, what a relief. I was beginning to think somehow I was missing something from the word ALL.
