You can find evidence for whatever you believe.

I’m pretty certain that if you believe something, you’ll find evidence for it. There is actual, compelling science behind this. Think of all the beliefs out there. From religion to UFOs and conspiracy theories to ghosts – people swear by the “proof” they have for their beliefs in them. Well, it’s because the mind does a good job of finding evidence for whatever it is we believe. When you create a belief (an identification with a story), the mind begins searching for proof, like a heat-seeking missile. The mind will do everything it can to find proof for what it holds to be true. It finds so much proof, that contrary evidence is “tuned out,” and the mind becomes blind to any other possibility. That’s why convincing others to see new possibilities is often futile. It’s because they have proof that their way of thinking “works.”

If you know the immense power of belief, why would you ever choose to believe that your destiny is misfortune and unhappiness? Remember, if you believe that, you’ll continue to find compelling evidence to prove yourself right. Conversely, what if you believed that your life was destined for prosperity, happiness, and abundance? You got it – you’ll find evidence for that too. Einstein was absolutely correct when he said that the most important decision you’ll ever make is whether or not you believe we live in a friendly or hostile universe.

Today, choose the right beliefs for yourself. “Believe in yourself,” is more than an encouragement. It should be rephrased to, “Believe in the good that’s coming to you.” What you believe has more power to shape your life than you’ll ever know. So when it comes to formulating your belief system, pick ones where you’ll enjoy finding the evidence. Pick beliefs that bring you much happiness, wealth, and prosperity. If you hold those beliefs long enough, you’ll be thrilled with the evidence you’ll eventually find.
