When was the last time you let your mind meander, peacefully? Most of us let our minds wander anxiously. But to sit out in nature, look up at the sky, see the birds and clouds overhead – that can get your mind thinking creatively. Inspiration is a relaxed process, looking out and getting some fresh ideas. Sometimes just experiencing some new scenery can do you a world of good. We get stuck in our routines and patterns that we never give our brains room to breathe. Deep thinking might reveal something that you’ve been missing about yourself. It might reveal that you need a change, or that you simply need to reconnect to your true self.
Do some deep thinking today. Worry is shallow thinking. We need thought leaders, those who allow the mind to open to new depths, to expand to new possibilities. Creativity is like a muscle, you have to allow it to work, to go deeper. To unlock new thoughts you have to be relaxed, inspired, and intrigued by what’s around you. If you’re going a mile a minute, you’re likely just going to kick up worrisome thoughts that just nag and nag. Deep thinking gets underneath worry, and descends into bigger, better, and more creative ideas that please you.
Look around. Look up. Close your eyes and feel the depth. Listen. Not only will this kind of activity calm you down, it will open up the dimension of wonderment. It will make you inquisitive. It will make you think about yourself and perhaps remind you that you need to be kinder, to let yourself have a break from all of that “normal,” frenetic thinking. Stop and look out into nature. Meander for a bit. You’ll settle into something new, I’m sure. We all need this kind of reflective time – time for deep thinking.
