One person is all that it takes. You can be that person. Fingers always point outward. But the real power of change is pointing directly towards you. Negativity feeds on itself when we grouse at others. How is that helping? We have to start seeing how powerful we are, just how much influence can come from one individual. It’s hard because negativity has the floor. It has ensnared our attention. It’s got us in the grip of its insidious hand, but you can change it. You don’t have to drink the poison. Even if someone confronts you directly, you don’t have to fall for it. You don’t have to follow, nor get sucked into the negativity. It is a test. And you pass with flying colors when you can recognize its foolishness.
To pass is to rise above, to fail is to fall below. When you fall into the trap of ridicule, complaining, and bickering, you’ll simply be status quo – you lose. If you’re buried in squabbles, lost in the crust of incidentals, how could your cup ever runneth over? The fullness of life is untouched by such pettiness.
If there is a problem that comes to you, of course, address it. But the world is swimming in a muck of insidious drama, disguising itself as “important.” Politics are not important, nor is religion. Look at what directly affects your life, and who sits in the White House most likely doesn’t. Focus on what actually affects your existence. No need to rifle through fear. Be the one. Be the one who can levitate and gravitate towards higher. One person can transform a thousand or more. One person can turn the tables with a single gesture of peace, with an introduction of humor, or with a gentle persuasion that moves others away from fear. Be that one person, you are the light of the world.
