Who knows? The moment does! Who knows how you would feel, when the moment comes to turn in that letter of resignation? Who knows how that person will react if you profess your love for them? Who knows how it will all turn out? The moment does, that’s it. The hardest part of every decision is approaching the moment of execution itself, and sometimes that is the only way to get confirmation if it is right or not.
When the moment comes, it’s sometimes hard to understand if you are giving into fear; giving into temptation; being fickle; or causing trouble. The right decisions will not feel cloudy like that. They will feel bold, confirming, and ultimately relieving. That’s not to say fear won’t be present, but you’ll have a clearer sense as time gets closer. The key is to pay close attention to your inner depth. That’s really the nature of thinking twice, but it’s much more than thinking.
Pay attention to the feeling of consequence, in real-time, as you take any action. If you are comported, you’re likely making the right choice, even if it is a difficult one. If you’re oscillating, panicked, out of your gourd, or frustrated, it’s not the right time to do anything. You cannot play chicken with life, but sometimes the moment of action will give you the confirmation that you’re looking for. If there’s something you’re contemplating, the closer you get to the decisive moment, the more or less confirming it will be. If you are vacillating, go deeper and get closer to the moment of impact, and you’ll know. Your gut knows, but only in due time. You cannot rush your intuitive sensibilities. They need time to marinate, and to get closer to the moment of impact. So keep your composure. You’ll know what’s right as you approach the “deadline.” In the meantime, chill.
