Nothing is yours. Everything is on loan. If it’s on loan, it should be more cherished! When we borrow something, we tend to care for it more than the stuff we own. When something is artistic, we respect and admire it. Here’s the key, everything in this world is a work of art, is on loan, priceless, and artistic – even your very own body and life.
No-one else gets to see life though your eyes, so your “museum” tour is exclusive! Each objet d’art is carefully placed on your journey, but only for your learning, your growth, your enrichment, and your enjoyment – it’s not meant for you to keep however, or to latch onto. Admire, ooo and ah from a distance, but don’t dawdle or clasp, there’s more to see, and more things will change.
Your friends are not yours. Your partner is not yours. Your job is not yours. Your money is not yours. Actually you don’t have a thing in this world, yet when it’s taken away it feels like real pain. If it’s not yours anyway, should it be so painful when it’s taken away? Let everything come and go without resistance. But take great care of the structure which makes it all possible – your body. It needs to feel good, and to be strong, so that the tour can endure and thrive. Don’t you want to see all there is to see? I do. Who knows what will be around the next corner? Cling to nothing, but admire everything. The best thing to do is to look and appreciate, but don’t try to “possess.” Everything and everyone in your life is on loan in your personal museum, don’t be desperate about anything, it’s not yours anyway.
