What side of the street are you going to walk down today? The sunny side or the dark side? Complainers are in darkness, they are ungrateful. The irritated are in darkness, they are fearful. The angry are in darkness, they are unsatisfied. The darkness of negativity has a pull, downward. It can begin at the very onset of the day. Your feet hit the floor, you look at an irritating text, you see a provocative headline, or you get sucked into a negative post on social media. This is how many humans start their day – on the dark side.
Start today’s journey on the sunny side, but be deliberate about it. On the sunny side, you’re invisible to the darkness (don’t look at your phone first thing). It’s the sunny side of the street that opportunity exists. Start by being grateful, or by imagining something positive, rather than looking for reasons to be irritated.
On the dark side (complaining, bitterness, negativity) you’ll grope in the blackness never finding anything to boost your spirits. Be a laser beam of focus on the positive, take the well-lit path today, and people will eventually figure out you cannot be drawn into their negative and insidious ways. You cannot be drawn into the drama of others, if you are standing across the street, light beaming brightly on you. Darkness’ pull has no force on the weightlessness of your light. Be invisible, shine so brightly that darkness cannot cover you. Be confident, be so hopeful that doubt can’t penetrate your sunny disposition. If you stay on the sunny side, opportunity will flock to you like a mighty force. Everything you need – solutions, the right people, open doors, etc. All of the goodness of life is on the sunny side of the street. Start on that side. Stay on that side, and the light will shine so brightly, that you’ll find delightful surprises around every corner.
