Be not offended. Be harmless and defenseless. Be a spirit.

Being offended doesn’t affect the so-called offender. It affects you. Offense is a self-attack perpetrated by the overactive mind. When you get offended, you’re just polluting your inner condition, while the outside remains exactly the same, just as it was before you became aware of it.

You have this incredible ability to see through it all, to see beyond, and to see the folly in most of what seems to bother you. Be the first to recognize how unimportant it all is. Most of the time, you’ll be able to find something to laugh at! You’ll also be able to see how precious life is, in the face of what offends you. See humor and see what matters first, rather than overexerting an effort to be on the right side of a dispute, or to be vindicated because of injustice, or to get your way, when you have no control over it anyway. Don’t clamp down. Become invisible.

Be a spirit and vanish! Nothing can stick to a spirit, it’s invisible. Nothing can offend a spirit, it’s neutral. Nothing can defeat a spirit, it’s eternal. You are a spirit in human form, you’re invisible, so nothing can penetrate you. It’s the mind that sets up that perimeter of “defense.” It’s just an illusion. Your spirit sees both the good and the bad simultaneously, but holds to nothing because it cannot. It sees all without a single moment of friction. Your spirit passes through life with no resistance. Disappear, and let everything simply “pass through.” I’m not talking about letting people walk all over you. Speak up for yourself when you have to, but notice when things don’t really affect you, personally. Be a neutral, natural spirit in human form today. Witness all, but hold to nothing. That release will allow more space for your inner joy to blossom. Lead with your spirit today and nothing will get to you. You’re untouchable.
