Value means, “the regard that something is held to deserve; the importance, worth, or usefulness of something.” Have you ever thought that someone else is “the most important person in your life?” I have. It’s a false comparison because it conceptualizes a human, an entity for whom comparison is not even possible. It’s the same as saying that a particular dollar is more valuable than other.
The universe doesn’t place value or worth on an individual, we do. And to take stock in the “inventory” of a life, no matter whose it is, is a disservice. Be careful in thinking anyone holds a higher place than you, in the world, as one who is worthy of the status – “the most important.” We are all loved, equally. But there is a greater understanding that encapsulates love more truthfully – that you are love itself, never to be measured or compared to another. Love is immeasurable.
Why ever think there is someone in your life of “utmost” importance, when truthfully, you hold the same place in the miracle of the whole? In the eyes of the creator, we are all incomparable. Consider yourself among the “glittering rich,” not just because you’re loved, but that your eyes are reading and comprehending these words, at this very moment. That’s the priceless nature of life, being aware of your own presence. There is no greater treasure than to understand that you are life, that you are love, and that you are an equal part of the wholeness of creation itself. There is no need to hold the love another in higher regard than the love that you have for yourself. And there is no reason to see others as less worthy, either. The universe doesn’t create a hierarchy of status like that. In the eyes of love, we are all equally as “rich.” Remind yourself and others of love’s richness and equality.
