Love is what anchors us, especially in turbulent times. Love is one of the only things that seems to make sense in a senseless world. It seems to be the only thing that feels right in conflict, uncertainty, and despair. But the source of love can be confusing, and illusive. It comes from the center of your being, not from the periphery or contents of your life. It’s always there, calm, serene, and available, yet many feel disconnected, distracted by a mind that tortures its host. Life’s turbulent moments are often a direct reflection of a lack of love – particularly self love. But in many ways, it is turbulence that invigorates it. It’s in the moments that we are shaken to our core, that we realize that within the core lies love itself. In your dying moments, the only thing you’ll long to express, is your deepest love to those who mean the most to you. In death, you’ll acknowledge that love is the ultimate priority.
The inner calm of your being is where love resides. Take a moment today to acknowledge its presence. Remember that it has not left you, it’s been there, and it will always be there. Call upon its strength in times of trouble and rely on its solace when you need to calm down. When life seems rocky, uncertain, and out of control, it’s partly because you have disconnected from the root of love. Love always knows that you will be OK, no matter what happens to you.
When you fully recognize that love was and always will be with you, and in you, there is no reason to ever feel deprived, cheated, or that you are “supposed” to be someone else. It’s love that created you, so how can you be separate from it? Connect to it in your greatest hour of need, and remember it’s always there as an anchor in times when life feels uncertain.
