We don\u2019t understand matters of the heart. It\u2019s hard to say the exact source of this quote, but it\u2019s relevant: \u201cThe mind doesn\u2019t have answers, and the heart doesn\u2019t have questions.\u201d Blaise Pascal said it this way, “The heart has its reasons that reason does not know.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Solomon, the Buddha, and Jesus, seem to be pointing to this mysterious \u201cheart,\u201d but the cardiologist can\u2019t help. Her waiting room is jammed with broken hearts. The matters of the mind seem equally puzzling. The psychotherapist has a waiting room jammed with broken minds. The minister, the guru, the morning motivator, and the priests are horrible diagnosticians. They say the spirit is poor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe mind\u201d and \u201cthe heart\u201d and even \u201cthe spirit\u201d are pointers of existential struggles which don\u2019t exist. Decisions \u201cfrom the heart\u201d get questioned by others. If you\u2019re being led away from something that on the surface seems hunky-dory, like a job, a relationship, or a situation – do it, even if there is no logical route or \u201chow to.\u201d You\u2019ll \u201csee.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Always listen to the matters of the heart, the deep insight is pure wealth. It\u2019s a thrill ride, an adventure, and a rush to riches beyond bliss. Others won\u2019t understand your understanding, the matters of the mysterious \u201cheart.\u201d Your gut (not the one the gastroenterologist treats) will lead you away from conformism and to the settlement, the land of milk and honey where home is found. The wise people have shown you the way – the settlement of Truth and heavenly grace, which hasn\u2019t a locale or logic. What \u201ceveryone else\u201d is saying seems to lead to the unsettled truth, the abysmal condition of the mind. Is it settled then? You\u2019ll have to go the rest of the way, but you\u2019ll know what settling down in your heart means, even when others (and your own mind) seem unsettled by your choice of action.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
