When you\u2019re with other people, let them know that they<\/em> matter. Every bit of your success will depend on how people perceive you. If you really want to excel, it\u2019s people who will get you there. They aren\u2019t the obstacle, you are. It\u2019s your people skills that will help you attain your goals. If you\u2019re in sales, you need others to believe your sale\u2019s pitch. If you\u2019re in development, you need others to believe in your philanthropic endeavor. If you are a leader, you need others to follow you. If you are potential friend, you need others to take an interest in you, and so on. Send out a \u201cyou matter\u201d energy with your words, demeanor, and actions, today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n A \u201cyou matter\u201d attitude towards others will get you anything that you want in your life. A myopic focus on tasks, objectives, and goals will obscure your people skills, and make you come across as being too busy, or unavailable. I\u2019m not saying that you allow people to drain all of your time or to take advantage of you, I\u2019m just saying to pay attention to the energy that you give<\/em> to others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Keep the spotlight people. Dial up the energy that says, \u201cyou matter.\u201d Focus on making others feel prominent, successful, and capable. When you\u2019re with others, let them glow, even when they fall short. Let their individuality bubble through. Believe in them. Celebrate their presence, rather than judge their so-called weaknesses. People are in various stages of development, so it\u2019s easy to hold their perceived weaknesses as a weapon against them. Instead, let them be the star, the shining light, the celebrity of your attention, even if you have to speak with them about something challenging. It will bring out their best.
